Listening: I am loving "Ho, Hey" by the Lumineers.  I sing it all of the time to my own sweetheart.  "I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart."  Love it!

Loving: I bought a pair of curvy skinny jeans from Ann Taylor LOFT a few weeks ago.  I love them!  The have the perfect weight and stretch to them.  I buy petites, because I'm short.  They look great with boots and flats.  Unfortunately (but not really), mine are getting a bit too big.  I guess I'll just have to break down, and buy another pair. 

Thinking: I created my immigration unit for a grad class a few years ago.  I love the unit and everything that I have included in it.  However, I want to update it to match the Common Core.  I'm just having trouble finding clip art that I love that goes well with the unit.  Melonheadz has a cute set, but I think I need a bit more.  Keep your eye out, I'll definitely be adding it to my TPT store in the next few weeks. 

Wanting: I haven't really bought anything new for myself in quite a while.  Last year I bought maternity clothes, but obviously those aren't working for me now.  I love to shop, and I am feeling a major urge to add a few new things to my closet. 

Needing: Our pretty Christmas tree is still up, as are the rest of the decorations.  I hate putting Christmas away.  It makes me sad every year. 

OLW: My word is content.  I am so content with my life right now.  I have a wonderful husband, perfect baby girl, a sturdy roof over my head, and a job that I love.  I am so blessed and in a good place right now.

Best Books for Boys (Linky Party)

Oh boys and books... They aren't always a match made in heaven.  So many of our little guys do not love reading.  This is not news to any of us.  Third grade boys are just so busy.  They are moving and grooving every moment of the day, and sometimes reading just seems to be a bit too slow for them.  This is why we have to hook them in!  If a book is good enough, it will slow down even the wiggliest of boys. 


My boys love non-fiction books.  They get soaked into the facts and love sharing them with their peers and me.  I have a few National Geographic for Kids fact books in my library.  The most popular of these is the Weird but True book.  My boys cannot get enough of the crazy facts that they find in this book.  The photos are fantastic, as well!

Another fan favorite in my room is the Who Would Win? series by Jerry Pallotta.  This is a series of 7 books that compare one animal to another.  They are typically tough or ferocious animals.  The facts are really interesting, and it gets the reader comparing and contrasting.  My boys especially love the one that compares a bull shark and and hammerhead shark.  Two big scaries!  I have ordered all of mine through Scholastic.  I haven't added the newest book to our library yet, but I hope to do so soon.  It compares a whale to a giant squid.  Scholastic has some fantastic resources to pair with the Who Would Win? series available on their website.
